We are expecting...

We are in the process of adopting another child.  :)  Last year we learned of a little boy with Down Syndrome that needed a family.  God was already working in Travis & my hearts to adopt, but we weren't exactly sure what that meant.  I was feeling like we were supposed to adopt from China & was getting anxious about the waiting time it would take to adopt a little girl from China.  Travis, of course, had no such feelings.  One day while I was at Grandma Marcy's house, she asked me if we would ever adopt again.  I said "yes, but not from Haiti this time, I would really like to adopt from China."  She jumped out of her chair and ran me to her office, where she pulled up an email of a little boy with Down Syndrome.  As we were driving home I remember calling my sister and telling her all about the little boy.  When I got home I sent an email to Travis, I didn't really think anything was going to come of it, but I sent it anyway.  I knew Travis was not going to say yes, but that we could pray about it.  We were in the process of looking for a new home and the conversation about adopting again always ended with, "If God wants us to adopt, He will help us find a bigger house first...".  So I was quite surprised when Travis responded back to me with "I have contacted our adoption agency to see what we can do".  I guess that afternoon before I emailed him, God had spoken to his heart about Down Syndrome and how special these children are to God.  That night we prayed and talked about what God would have us do as a family.  Shortly afterwards we decided to pursue the adoption of this little boy who had  just become "available" for adoption by some miracle.  We have worked hard getting through all the paperwork and are getting excited to bring home this little boy.  God has been so good,  after we decided to adopt, God found us an amazing new house for our growing family and has answered so many prayers.  We covet the prayers of our friends and family during this journey and ask that you will continue to pray as we get closer to bringing this precious little boy home. 

• Please pray for the rest of our paperwork to get reviewed quickly and the last hoops we need to jump through will be "easy".
• Pray for our trip that we will need to take to China.
• Pray for the transition of this little boy into his new family.
• Pray for thanks for God's goodness in supplying all our needs.
